Firebug 1.2.0b10

Firebug 1.2.0b10 has been released on I just gave ColdFire a quick test and everything seems to work. If you find any issues be sure to report them on the RIAForge site.

Speaking of Firebug, some of you may have run into the "double load" issue in Firebug 1.2. This issue is actually due to a limitation in the Mozilla browser, but a fix has been developed, in part by the Firebug team. So if you want to help Firebug, and in turn ColdFire, go to the Mozilla bug database and vote for Bug 430155. (This is one way you can help your favorite open source projects without contributing code!)

Raymond Camden's Gravatar The only real bug I've encounted (and I was on b7) is that XHR request logging doesn't always work. I'll hit a page with an AJAX call on it and either the request will flash for a second and disappear, or I'll see nothing. BUT - it clearly says 1 request in the panel.

Nathan Mische's Gravatar I think your XHR issue is related to the double load issue in Firebug. You see the correct response for a split second, then Firebug makes a second request to get the source and it wipes out your expected results.

Raymond Camden's Gravatar Hmm. I wonder if that's also related to the _stupid_, old bug with Firefox where when you view source, it refetches from the server. I _hate_ that. The source is there, Firefox. Your rendering it. Who cares if it came from a POST. View Source should just show whats in the browser. (Sorry, rant off.)

Nathan Mische's Gravatar Yes, that is the bug, and I agree it is pretty dumb. For whatever reason, Firefox doesn't have an interface to show the source of the rendered page, so if you want to see the source you have to make a second request. Firebug makes this second request to get the source for the HTML tab. The good news is that an interface has been written that will allow you to see the source of the rendered page. You can vote to have it added to Mozilla here:
