About Me

My name is Nathan Mische. I'm a husband, father, and software developer. I work mostly with ColdFusion, but I've been known to dabble in Flash (ActionScript) development. Lately I find myself doing more and more fun stuff with Flex, Java, and thanks to AJAX and Firefox extensions, JavaScript.

I recently relocated to Philadelphia from New Orleans. (That is a long story that won't go into here.) Before moving to New Orleans I spent 7 years in NYC as a web developer and I'm currently employed as an Senior Programmer/Analyst at The Wharton School in Philadelphia.

About the Image

This photo was taken on a flight from New Orleans to New York in July of 2005, probably somewhere over Virginia.

About the Newschuyl Name

I live not far from the historic Boathouse Row on the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia. While not exact, Schuylkill is pronounced close to "school kill" so the name of the blog is meant to be pronounced like "new school."
